As a neophyte in "The Business", I knew little, however Joel recognized my enthusiasm, and took me by the proverbial hand. He suffered my mistakes with grace, as a true gentleman, and became a teacher, mentor, role model, and most importantly my friend.

For the past 25 years we seldom worked together professionally, yet our friendship flourished. Although a surprisingly private person, Joel and I shared much of our lives. We disagreed on many, many topics, and this only served to strengthen our relationship.
